Video Game Recommendations
The title kinda gives it away, but basically, you can post in this thread about games you think are good and you would recommend to other people.
You should give a good description of the game, and explain the reasons why you think that game is good.
As for the people who see the recommendation, you can post in this thread replying to the recommendation about your own opinions and views on the game.
If you so desire, you can give the game a rating, like 4 out of 5 stars, or 9/10. But don't go overboard with this concept, and go posting ratings like 345/23.

Re: Video Game Recommendations
One game only? I'd have to say Mirror's Edge. Not everyone's cut of lamb but I thought it was great. It's a game about parkouring with a bit of gunfight dabbed in here and there. In terms of story it's not that good but at the time it was an experimental game. The atmosphere is great, and it's a very unique game. And now with Mirror's Edge 2 being announced, well, you should go try it out for yourself.
Re: Video Game Recommendations
Sleeping Dogs - Action, adventure, fighting, open-world.
Developer: United Front Games - Publisher: Square Enix.
Previously known as: True Crime: Hong Kong.
Story - 4.5/5
Set in modern-era Hong Kong, you play as an undercover cop as you work your way into the triad and slowly move up the ranks in hopes of bringing the organisation down to its knees. Overall story in my opinion is terrific with well executed character development. Voice acting for the most part is well done.
Game Length - 5/5
You can probably complete the story in roughly 8-10 hours, depending on fails and replays. With the added DLC this shoots up to about 15 hours worth of campaign play. With the extra world content such as collectible items, hacking mini games, district take overs, clothing stores, martial arts training club, karaoke bars, betting games, fight club, table games, and races, you will find the overall gameplay to exceed well into the ~50 hour mark. All depends on how you approach the game and spend your time in Hong Kong.
Gameplay/Controls - 4.5/5
The fighting mechanics are similar to those in recent Batman games but instead of an icon, the enemy flashes red. With DLC, you can use all sorts of martial-art techniques to bring down your opponents. Gun play is also fine and responds well. However, driving feels a little wonky although not a huge set-back. Controls in general are fully responsive.
Graphics/Design - 5/5
Hong Kong looks beautiful. You have a variety of different environments: The busy night market; glamorous rich-peoples district; medium wealth areas; shipping docks; night clubs; lowly, dark and shady back alleys; and plenty of other gorgeous looking locales. The architecture of it all looks wonderful and the city feels alive for the most part. Tiny details here and there with huge impacts and adds to the overall success of design.
Soundtrack - 5/5
Like GTA and Saints Row, Sleeping Dogs has a selection of in-game radio stations supported by their respective presenters and commercials. Classic, hip-hop, rock, jazz, electro, and plenty others including some traditional Chinese tunes here and there.
Overall: 4.7/5.
I have played this game for well over 170 hours. Collected 1/4 of the overall open world items and have yet to play the DLC campaigns. I can easily see myself reaching 300+ hours. Definitely a game I'd strongly recommend if open world is your thing.

Hapyi Monsters (iOS & Android)
It's a Pokemon style game that uses a board and dice to move around the levels instead of a free roam map like Pokemon. It's simple to learn and hard to get a super team. You use scrolls to get some new monsters by fusing ones you've caught and at certain levels. Others can be caught with seal scrolls in a level.
If you have a pal code, you and your pal get cool prizes for it, such as a free monster trade and chest of treasures. You will then be able to help them in events such as Boss Battles.
There are PvP and a regular ladder for you to increase your rank in. If you have a good enough team win, you will get xp, honor, rank and even money upon those wins. There are many strong people out there so it may take time to build yourself to that level.
Each level is locked by how many monsters you need in your collection to unlock it. And you have to beat the level before it as well. When you finish a level, say Jungle, it unlocks a team mode version of it. You and another person, friend or stranger online, can work as a pair to get through them and earn rarer items and higher xp than normal levels. Also, each level has a veteran and expert mode of it, that you can go back and complete later as well. These are much harder, but the payoff is also greater.
My overall score for it would be about a 7.5/10 just because I think it works alot like Pokemon and it can be fun to play. The missing points are from the 1 song the game plays, which is so annoying after hours of playing. The pay-to-win aspect it seems to have draws me away from it as well. You can buy chances to get rarer monsters and items if you have the cash to dish out. But I would tell anyone to just try it out and make their own opinion on it after reaching player level 10 or so.
